Wireless Internet Options...
Ok, so we all know what the options are for our Visors...but what about our laptops? I mean, there is only a certain amount of applications you can use, not to mention functionality, with your Visor. I would like to have a card for my laptop, that will give me wireless internet service, preferabbly, with no per minute charges! So I just pay $30-$50/month, and get Unlimited Wireless Internet...
So what are my options? Ricochet went out of business...what else is there? (Also, would be great if I could buy a card, and then just use my Earthlink dial-up account in order to get free access...)
Let me know if my dream can come true
Thanks!
Assuming your laptop has a serial (COM) port, you can buy a cable
to connect it to your SprintPCS phone--the same phone you use for
your visor. I don't know if you can get *unlimited* minutes, but
you can get a 2000-3000 per month for the price you mention, provided
you take most of them as night/weekend minutes. The connection
now is 14.4kbps, but will surely increase.
You can also get a CDPD card for your laptop. Somewhat more expensive, but marginally faster. Sierra and Novatel make one. Charges are around $40 - $50 a month for unlimited access from Verizon.
