Question Synching Address Book and cell phone memory

Does anyone know of a way to synch (or even just copy) the phone numbers in the Address Book to a cellular phone (specifically the Motorola StarTac 7868W)? I'm assuming this would requrie some kind of cable...would a cables4pdas cable do the trick? What kind of software would be required?

Dreaming of the day that a CDMA phone comes with an IR port....

Starfish TrueSync will sync your addressbook from your pc to your phone with a cable.

Sending this up, because though I know that the previous suggestion will work, I already have a phone to PDA cable for wireless access, and I don't really want to spend more money on yet another cable. So, is there any way to get information from my visor to my phone through the serial cable I'm already using to connect the two? Thanks.

If your phone has IR, just beam the Address!

Worked with my Nokia, works with my Ericsson...

Unfortunately, no irda on my motorola 120c. I don't think there are any cdma phones with irda.

I did some research today, and it seems like there used to be a program to do this with a serial connection called handphone. Too bad the software is now proprietary to the Palm mobile internet kit. Anyone have an old copy? Any other ideas? Thanks.

If you find a cheap serial cable to connect the phone to the PC, you can download the Starfish software for free at:

http://www.starfish.com/private/yahoo/yahoo_ov.html

This syncs your address information with Yahoo, phone, and PDA.

I think the cables by themselves can be found much cheaper than the data kits sold by the phone manufacturers.

I really appreciate you trying so hard to help me make this work. I did see the truesync software through yahoo, but it won't work in my situation. It requires that the phone be connected directly to the PC. The cable that I currently have is to connect the phone to my visor. A new phone to PC cable would cost about $50 that I don't really have at the moment.
