Email timing out

I have a serious problem, until recently I have been using a Visor Delux and either a Nokia 8290 or an Ericsson T28 World phone with the DI-28 IR modem to download my email. I am using Mindspring (Earthlink) as my ISP, the mail server I am accessing is on my @home account, and Multimail (the demo version) as my email client. I downloaded the IRenhance files and have used both Beamsync and IR Link with great success, slow, but great.

A few days ago I received a Visor Prism as a gift, when I first tried it out everything worked fine with both phones, but since then I have had problems. I normally use the Ericsson phone and so I loaded my briefcase up with my new Prism and headed off to work. When I tried to download my email everything seemed to be fine, dialed up, connected to the ISP, but it seemed to take a little onlger than normal to connect to my POP account. Multimail told me that I had 11 messages to download but it timed out after starting to download the second message, over 5 minutes into the call.

I thought I might have a problem with my POP server, but I hooked up my Handdspring modem and plugged it into a landline and everything worked fine, went back to the cell phone and had the same problem. Still have the same problem today. Anybody have any ideas?
