Xircom Springport Wireless Ethernet
Got a Springport Wireless Ethernet module today, plugged it in and in no time I was connected to my network, but I can't say I am having no problems.
Here is my set up,
2 Macs and 1 PC all connected wirelessly to an Apple Airport Base Station which is hooked up to a cable modem (Comcast is the provider)
Visor Prism with Xircom Springport Wireless Ethernet Module.
I have it set to get the IP from the base station, which it does just fine, I can ping my Prism from my Mac with no problem, I haven't tried synching over the network since this doesn't seem to be supported in OS X.
When I try to access a web page using either Blazer or Avantgo I get an error message. Blazer says the connection was lost and that I may not have a signal, however the status screen in the Xircom software shows me at full strength, Avantgo, when I try to do a modem synch, says it can't find the server or that there was a DNS error. I also have no luck accessing my email with either Multimail or Eudora.
Anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong? It seems that if I can connect to the network I should be able to connect to the internet, at least it seems that way to me?

I've used a setup similar to yours on three similar occasions - with different results each time. Once, at MacWorld SF, worked just fine - no idea what the airport setup was - I just used the default dhcp setup on my Handspring/Xircom. Another time, using an older airport base station with an earthlink dialup account, worked after I forced the ip address to one outside the range that the airport gives out via dhcp, and set the dns address in Prefs. A third time, after the same airport base station had been updated to 2.0 - wouldn't work at all. One suspicious thing I noticed was that the airport did not seem to give out the dns address via dhcp.
I've also had bad luck with afriends Linksys gateway (tried only briefly), and good luck with my own SMC Barracade, which works with only a few small problems (occasional disconnects as long as I do not enable "power saving".)
good luck...
CF wi-fi w/ Memplug?
Does anyone know if you can use a CF Wi-fi card w/ a Cf Memplug?
