I'm getting the eyemodule2 from Girlfiend.

I am going to buy BugME, cause it supports the eyemodule.

Is there anything i should know, Bad or Good, about these products?

I'm hoping that's a typo ...

The eyemodule and eyemodule2 are both battery hogs. And I've found they don't like rechargeables much. So, I'd say get a pack of super-heavy-duty alkaline AAA's

Better than grilfriend or grilfiend

I can't speak for EM2, but EM1 doesn't like NiMH rechargeables at all. On a full charge, EM1 can use them for seconds before it says the batteries are too low.

I think subconsciously I DID mean to type "girlfiend".

Dude you guys haven't seen her when we argue and shes is mad! WATCH OUT DUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow I never knew the Eye2 is a battery drain. I guess that's ok since my edge is rechargeable.

It's not so much that it's a drain (though it is), but that NiMH and NiCd batteries don't generate a full 3.0 volts, and the EM (and I presume 2) are more sensitive to voltage than the Visor is.

But with your LiIon battery in the Edge, you should be fine.

First off, how did you get your girlfriend to buy you $270 in merchandise for your birthday? My girlfriend is getting me a few computer games and planetarium program for my 18th birthday tomorrow. If you take off tomorrow you can always tell your boss that it will be a future national holiday and that you are just ahead of your time.

Second, as far as power forthe EM2, I don't notice much problem. True, when you use it your battery meter may drop quite a bit, but it will recover to very close to the level it had before you used it.

Agreed. My EM2 doesn't kill the recharge on my Prism that bad at all, compared to the complaining I've heard about the battery drain from the EM1.

culo.. congrats. Sounds like you've got a nice grilfiend!

Make sure your EM2 is running v. 2.0 s/w, If not go to the Handspring website and download the patch. I got my EM2 yesterday and that's the first thing I had to do. Your's might not need it. Just a FYI.

I do use BugMe Messenger with my EM2. A few things to be warned of though. First, only Palm-sized images are used. If you use a full-size image, the image will be shrunk to a palm-sized image in BMM (but thankfully not in the EM2 program). If you are using anything BUT a Prism, this means that the image will become greyscale.

As far as storing pics, I don't think you can on the HS flash module. You can try moving it but I do believe that causes problems. I use my Memplug w/ 128 MB SM cards to store individual images as a JPGs.

Ask her to get you a Memplug!

To send the full size images, try EyeMail2 from www.ninelocks.com

"mgflorez" dude thanks fo the info. I think the main reason i am going to use BugMe is the fact That i can write messages ON the pics.

Unlesss you can do tHAT with EyeMail2? I will have to look into it.

Well i am out the door. I have a friends Clie 760 in my hand and i am on my way to compusa to compare it to the prism.

I need color!!! Butt i love my Edge's size.

Well Keep the ideas coming, and ill keep you posted on the prism, clie, edge issue

Memory Card Storage of EyeModule 2 Jpegs

One other work around for EyeModule 2 jpegs on a memory card is the following:

1. With EyeMail2 (www.ninelocks.com) on your memory card (I use a MatchBookDrive) and the file Jpeg Compression Library on RAM, you launch EyeMail 2 with FAFileMover and VFSHelper (www.kopsisengineering.com), then convert the EyeModule 2 images to individual jpegs with EyeMail2.

2. With FAFileMover copy the Jpeg Compression Library file and all JTeN image files to the memory card. This will free up RAM. You can hot sync and delete the EyeModule 2 images and free up more RAM.

3. When you are ready to email the images, copy the Jpeg Compression Library and all JTeN image files associated with the Library to RAM. Launch EyeMail2, and email as usual.

The advantage of this method is the ability to store images on the memory card without taking up valuable RAM, until you are ready to send them.

I understand that EyeMail2 is working to include VFS support that would allow the images to be stored either in the RAM or on the memory card--sort of like Mapopolis 3.0.

As far as writing a note on the image, EyeMail2 has no like function. If you rename the images after converting them to jpegs, EyeMail2 retains the "new" name as the subject line of the email. I suppose you could include text in the body of the email for additional notes. For me, BugMeMessenger's limitation that only allows smaller images made the transfer of images by email unusable. It would be nice to add graffiti to the images, but not at the cost of a reduced size image. BMM has other options that may make it ideal for other applications. My $0.02
