-- Setting up Thinmodem Plus (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15371)
Well, the old guy is back.
I received my Thinmodem Plus from Amazon.com on the 22nd of May and I still have been unsuccessful in accessing the internet with it. Furthermore, I feel orphaned by the manufacturer CardAccess; the retailer Amazon.com; my ISP; and the PDA manufacturer Handspring.
I am no computer savvy young fellow. I am a plodding foot soldier of the 20th century, who needs some specific guidance to get his winged machine off the ground. Would someone please suggest what might be wrong with my technique?
I was told that CompuServe, my contracted Internet Service Provider, would not work with the Thinmodem module. Fine. Since I pay CompuServe $21.95 a month for their service, and am contracted for another 14 months, I decided to go the inexpensive route and signed up for free internet access on BlueLight.com. Fine.
After configuring the Thinmodem in accordance with the on board setup wizard I still cannot connect to my ISP. The dial up works but at the point that connection is to occur, I receive an error message.
I will listen to any suggestions, but please speak "old guy" talk, so I can follow your directions.
Thanks for the leg up.
Unfortunately, your request seems to have gotten lost amid the shuffle of MemPlug announcements.
Anyway, this page describes how to use a free ISP with PalmOS PDA's:

Thank for the lead. I'll go to that site and see if I can't make my connection.
