Synch to 2 different comuputers
I have a computer at work and a computer at home. i would like to synchronize with my visor at work and then resynchronize with my visor at home (replacing home data with work data from the visor). How do I set this up?
Right click the hotsync manager icon in the task bar. Select, "custom" and choose which conduit setting you want to modify. For example, if you wanted to update your address book with a copy from your work computer, select "address book" and click the "change" button. Now choose, "handheld overwrites computer." This will give you the option to overwrite the information on your home computer with what is stored on your handheld.
Hope this helps.
If you have a specific need to overwrite your home data with your work data (eg, you know that your home data has become corrupted), you should do as -gimme- suggests.
However, in an ordinary HotSync, the newer data (whether it be on the PDA or the PC) will *overwrite* the older data. Unless someone's changing data on your home computer while you're at work, you should be fine with the default "synchronize the files" HotSync conduit settings.
I could be mistaken about the above, but I will say that in 4.5 years of Palm use (syncing with both home and work computers), I have yet to lose or mess up any data. The worst that's happened is the cautious HotSync software has alerted me to a possible conflict/confusion, telling me that it's graciously duplicated the "suspect" records and that I'll have to decide which to keep and which to delete.
i do this all the time without doing any special setup.
The initial time you sync on one computer, you may want to set the conduits on the other conduits to "Handheld overwrites Desktop", but afterwords, just a simple sync on either computer will keep everything updated.
It's pretty idiot proof...it just works.

I sync with my home and work computer. I use Microsoft Outlook for calendaring at work and the Palm program at home with no problems.
